Wooden plugs colonised with yellow enoki mycelium (Flammulina velutipes) for inoculating fresh hardwood logs.

The yellow strain is the wild form, with glossy orange brown caps and the dark velvet stem the species is named after. Use poplar, willow or beech, drill holes of 8 to 10 mm and seal them with wax. Enoki fruits in winter, at 5 to 12 degrees, and simply picks up again after a frost.
