Discover the pleasure of growing your own golden oyster mushrooms, also known as tamogitake, with our high-quality spawn. This spawn, rich in mycelium, makes growing these delicious and vividly coloured mushrooms a simple and enjoyable process.

Spawn characteristics

  • Latin name: Pleurotus citrinopileatus
  • Suitable substrate: Hardwood sawdust, straw, spent coffee grounds

How to use it?

Our golden oyster mushroom spawn can easily be introduced into a suitable substrate of your choice, such as hardwood sawdust, straw or spent coffee grounds and other organic material. As an alternative you can consider our pre-mixed Master's Mix substrate, which has been specially designed to provide the optimal nutrients and conditions for the growth of oyster mushrooms.

The spawn can be placed in a grow bag, a bucket or another suitable growing environment.

Growth and harvest

Under the right conditions you can expect the golden oyster mushrooms to be ready for harvest within about 2 months after inoculation. The incubation period takes 12-13 days at a room temperature of 20-24°C.

Fruiting starts when the temperature is lowered to 15-20°C and the humidity is raised to 85-95%. The ideal fruiting conditions include a room temperature of 17-22°C and a relative humidity of 85%.

During the growing period you can expect two to three harvests (flushes), with an interval of about 8 days. Between the flushes, raise the humidity to 85-95% to promote growth.

With their slightly fruity flavour and striking yellow colour, golden oyster mushrooms are a fantastic addition to a wide range of dishes. Start growing your own golden oyster mushrooms today!
