Wooden plugs colonised with reishi mycelium (Ganoderma lingzhi) for inoculating fresh hardwood logs.

Oak or beech works best; drill holes of 9 mm and seal them with the supplied wax. Then bury part of the inoculated log in a shaded spot. Reishi is a slow species that forms the well known lacquered, reddish brown bracket; you do not eat it fresh but dry it for tea.
